As of 2025, things are looking pretty grim in the United States of America. We are facing four more years of selfish, unethical, willfully uninformed, and violent stooges at the reins of our government. My hope is that our great country has the resilience to weather it and someday recover.
Republican politicians are a clown show. Their "concerns" are utterly un-serious. Their actions undermine their own self-proclaimed goals either due to incompetence or pursuit of a thinly veiled secret agenda of enriching themselves, avoiding accountability, and maintaining power. Sadly, it is the majority of American voters we have to thank for our predicament. They are either tragically ill-informed (to a degree that suggests willful ignorance), or they are villains, cheering for the persecution of minorities and the destruction of our nation.
I think we must be victims of our own success and dominance. Too many Americans have deluded themselves into believing the system can be brought down without terrible hardship and devastation. The world will not rush to our rescue when the collapse happens, they will cheer our demise.
